Tax Calendar for Texas Property Tax Appeal and Property Taxes Reduction

01 – Appraisal values established for real property

31 – Prior tax year taxes due – final day to file late protest

February

01 – Prior tax years property taxes become delinquent

April

01 – Last day(or as soon as possible) for Chief Appraiser to mail Notices of Appraised Value for single family residence homestead properties

15 – Last day to file Business Personal Property Renditions and property information reports

30 – Last day to file exemptions with Appraisal District, including homestead, over-65, disability, and 1-d-1 special agricultural valuations

May

may3101 – Notices of Appraised Values other than single family residence homesteads are mailed

31 – Deadline for filing written protest on property with a Notice of Value mailed in April or 30 days after the Notice of Value was mailed

June – October

Appraisal Review Board has protest hearings

October

Taxing entities set their tax rates – Tax Assessor/Collector mails tax statements to taxpayer
