Kevin Conrad
In addition to the management and execution of property tax consulting engagements on a nationwide basis for owners of Houston commercial real estate, Kevin is responsible for ad valorem tax valuation appeals, negotiations, pre/post acquisition due diligence, litigation support, personal property compliance, and property tax exemptions.
Prior to joining Texas Protax, Kevin was a Vice President in the Property Tax Services group at Duff & Phelps. Kevin was also a Manager in the Property Tax Services group at Thomson Tax & Accounting, and Deloitte Tax (Property Tax Services group acquired by Thomson in October 2007). Before joining Deloitte Tax, Kevin was an appraiser with Paul Hornsby & Company, Inc., a commercial real estate appraisal firm in Austin, Texas. This firm focused on appraisal work for lending purposes, eminent domain, litigation support and property tax appeals. Kevin’s property tax consulting experience has focused on apartment, office, industrial, hospitality, and retail properties.
Steve Laas, MAI
Steve is responsible for the management and execution of property tax consulting engagements on a nationwide basis for owners of commercial real estate, with additional specializations with semiconductor manufacturing facilities and corporate campuses.His experience includes valuation appeals, negotiation, pre/post acquisition due diligence, litigation support, personal property compliance and property tax exemptions.
Prior to joining Morrison & Head, LP, Steve was a Director in the Property Tax Services group at Duff & Phelps. Steve was also a Director in the Property Tax Services group at Thomson Tax & Accounting, and Deloitte Tax (Property Tax Services group acquired by Thomson in October 2007). Before joining Deloitte Tax, Steve was an apartment broker with CB Richard Ellis. Prior to joining CB Richard Ellis, Steve was a partner in the commercial real estate firm of Frederick & Hornsby, Inc. in Austin, Texas. This firm focused on appraisal work for lending purposes, eminent domain, litigation support and property tax appeals.
Steve’s property tax consulting experience has focused on apartment, office, industrial, hospitality, retail, semiconductor manufacturing, and large corporate campus properties.

Todd Thomas
Todd Thomas has lived in Houston, Texas for 45 years and has extensive knowledge of the uniqueness of the Houston residential market.He has five years experience in serving residential property owners with their property tax appeals. Prior to this, he worked as a residential fee appraiser in the Houston area.
Todd earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Houston and is a registered Property Tax Consultant in Texas.Todd has been married to his wife, Judith, for 17 years and has a daughter, Emma. He is an avid hunter and enjoys the outdoors.
